The engineer behind the systems
O'Donnell AI is one person, on purpose. Here is who you would actually be working with.
The short version
I'm Jake O'Donnell, a licensed professional engineer in Charleston, South Carolina. I spent my career designing, building, and operating industrial gas systems, including running a commercial CO2 recovery plant. Plants teach you a specific kind of respect: equipment that fails quietly costs real money, so you log everything, check everything, and trust the record over the feeling.
In February 2026 I turned that discipline on my own desk. I started handing my repetitive work to software, badly at first, and kept going. About 135 days later my personal fleet runs 70 scheduled jobs, more than 10,000 logged runs, morning briefings, follow-up drafts, report assembly, pipeline cleanup. In May I let the failure rate climb to 23.7% because nobody was really watching. By June it was 2.0%, because I built the watching. I publish the telemetry, partly as proof and partly so I can't lie to myself about it. It updates live, here.
Why this business
Every owner I know pays for the same quiet leak: quotes that go out days late, invoices nobody chases, the Friday afternoon lost to assembling numbers by hand. The software to fix that finally works. What is missing is somebody who treats it like plant equipment, built for how your shop actually runs, checked every day, reported every month, and repaired by a person whose name you know.
That is the whole pitch. No dashboards you will never open, no subscriptions you rent forever. Systems you own, watched by an engineer, with a report that tells you plainly what got done.
How I work
In person when it matters, Charleston and the Southeast. Fixed prices, stated before work starts, all of them on one page. Nothing external ever goes out of your business without a human approving it. And if a job is not worth automating, I will say so, that answer is free.
